The Transitions to Parenthood seminar is geared to meet the needs of mental health professionals working with pregnant and postpartum women, couples and families and consists of a hybrid of readings on theory, literature, and the latest research concerning treatment of perinatal women and families combined with case consultation and presentations.

Each seminar meets at the Family Institute’s downtown office monthly in 6 month rounds and each round we focus on a different theme or angle of working with the transitions to parenthood.  Past themes have included postpartum anxiety, reclaiming the subjectivity of motherhood, and cultivating inclusive practice with perinatal women and families.  All training materials, readings, and CEUs are included in the cost of the seminar.
